Story

This site speaks few languages. Two words on this:

  • Speaking several languages is not a luxury for les Editions du Tripadour. Among the very first books we published there is a bilingual French-Italian poetry book, Sogno e Castigo. Building bridges between the cultures is rather a MISSION for us. So being a polyglot site makes perfectly sense. It's all explained in our Charte Editoriale (not translated yet!).

  • All the texts here are not translated in all the supported languages and some will probably never be. Some of these texts are provided by the authors and it's upon them to decide on which languages they want to be present and in this case provide the translations. But we are ready to integrate the translated texts in an interface engine which allows to switch from one language to another seamlessly. Just click and it's done. We'll do our best to translate completely the interface and the instructions on how to use the site. This is a very time consuming task. So ... INDULGENCE, and HELP MAYBE!

  • Today we support three languages: French (FR), English (EN), Italian (IT) and very shortly Persian (FA). We are testing our solutions to the problems driven from the dynamic switch from two different writing directions: Left to Right & Right to Left. In fact all the elements of a page should find their right position and alignments in this switch. It's far from obvious and the tools today, including the browsers, don't support entirely such challenge. So everything needs to be hacked and built.

  • In another document, technical this time, we'll talk more about the technical aspects of the challenge. Geeks, heads up!

  • The book covers are designed by Reza Hiwa, the paintings are done by Nabil Anani.
